An image of ambulances queuing at Medway Hospital has highlighted increasing pressures on the NHS trust following a surge in coronavirus cases.
Student paramedic Cameron Walker posted a photo last night on Twitter showing eight ambulances outside the hospital, but said around 20 crews were waiting to be dealt with, with some waiting up to six hours.
This is the scene at Medway hospital right now! There are about 20 ambulances waiting! The longest waiting is about 6 hrs. PLEASE ONLY CALL US IF IT IS A EMERGENCY! There isn’t enough of us left! 😩 pic.twitter.com/efzW44qMzQ— Cameron Walker (@Cameron71708731) December 28, 2020
