Deputy commissioner Nitesh Patil stated that Belagavi district administration is prepared to combat the JN.1 variant of COVID-19. The district has 908 covid beds and 78 ventilators available at the BIMS hospital. Surveillance will be increased at the Goa and Maharashtra border check posts. The number of tests in the district will also be increased. Chikodi-Sadalaga MLA Ganesh Hukkeri instructed the health department to make RTPCR tests mandatory for individuals with cold, cough, and fever.
