A study by the Delhi State Cancer Institute (DSCI) found that cervical cancer patients with diabetes, especially when combined with hypertension, had a poor response to anti-cancer treatment. In contrast, patients without diabetes or with hypertension alone responded better to treatment. The study suggests a link between these underlying medical conditions and a higher risk of lingering cases and disease recurrence.
