PMC plot, cite vehicular congestion and hygiene concerns
Residents of Baner Park Society and
Kumar Paragon society in
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and objected to the proposed ota market (OM 12) at a
plot east of Kumar Paragon Society. They have cited vehicular congestion and lack of proper sanitation and safety measures as reasons, and suggested the PMC build a garden or park instead.
The civic officials, however, said the plot is suited for the market and all the issues raised by citizens could be resolved. The PMC-owned amenity space lies empty about 200 metres off the main road. It is surrounded by residential houses and a proposed commercial building.
