As election dates near, social media platforms are flooded with fake and objectionable contents featuring prominent politicians of different parties. Fake videos, memes, distorted reels, and cartoons bearing inflammatory content on chief minister Naveen Patnaik, BJD leader V K Pandian, and Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan have hit different digital platforms. The cyber cell of the state crime branch is clueless about the persons committing the offence. The trend of circulating fake content on social media has assumed significance in the current political scenario.
