Cheap may be cost effective for some, but not for others. Some tips on the market are substandard. Some are possibly good (ends of production runs). Some may be perfectly good due to a production over-run. Commercial users (as in high precision, high volume). They could not tolerate less than full spec devices due to service life expectancy, production losses due to out-of-spec output etc. High precision tooling/machines cannot justify running cheap, possibly substandard tips.
