Leaf Beetle

Description: A striking yellow Leaf Beetle, almost Tortoise Beetle, with bands of black and blue and a black spot in the middle of the pronotum. About 8 mm long. Family Chrysomelidae. Habitat: Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters. Species ID Suggestions
