Mike Estes has a new job.
The longtime Parks and Rec programmer will now serve as coordinator for Teton County Search and Rescue. He's volunteered for the rescue outfit for 28 years.
Estes will take over from Jess King, who spent seven years in the role and left on March 1.
Anthony Stevens served as the interim coordinator and will continue to volunteer and serve as Search and Rescue's Training Advisor.
The transition comes with a few changes in the "coordinator" role.
Estes' primary job will be supporting the Teton County Search and Rescue Board of Advisors to make sure the "team is rescue ready at all times." That will entail record keeping and organization, gear maintenance, and facilitating training, as well as coordinating communications between Search and Rescue and its partners.
