Peoria sees first significant snow of the season

PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria crews were out treating roads early Wednesday morning after the first measurable snowfall of the season, although accumulation was expected to be minor.
Peoria Public Works Deputy Director of Operations Sie Maroon said the City’s Snow Fighters have a limited number of trucks on the streets treating hills, overpasses, and around the two major hospitals downtown.
Seeing some slick spots, Maroon offered some tips for driving in snow, including leaving extra time to get to your destination, and driving slower.
