a warm welcome you're watching the weekly here on r.t. international with all the latest headlines and around the the stories that shape the week. the democratic primaries in the u.s. got off to a difficult start this week the results of last monday's iowa caucus are still unclear after a long delay caused by a technical glitch the party is currently reviewing the results from 95 precincts and has apologized for the chaos the caucus was mauled by inaccurate calculations on the missing data partly caused by a faulty small tone up but that didn't stop some politicians from blaming external interference. of a nightmare scenario and if so what do you do about it these are probably the most prepared we've ever been as a party for these caucuses and we've run through a few different scenarios but i can tell you we're already iowa was the starting place still i'd settle for a race and at the end the prize is becoming the presidential nominee and that the finish line. around and wait to find out who one is precinct caucus results started coming in the iowa democratic party ran them through an accuracy in quality check it became clear that they were in consistencies with reports the underlying cause of these in consistencies was not immediately clear and required investigation which took time this is an embarrassment all they had to do was count the votes the polling stations counted the votes all they had to do was add together the tallies what a 10 year old could do in a calculator the democratic party couldn't this mess was caused by a new app designed to speed up vote counting made by a secretive company called shadow inc that i suppose was the 1st clue who contracts a company called shadow to build an open transparent voting app democrats the people who shouted loudest about russia threatening american elections that breaking news russian hackers tried to hack wisconsin's election system russia's hacked into a lot of things russian hackers the kremlin clan certainly looks like they're at it again and with an eye towards helping this president to combat strums popularity democrats created 2 organizations acronym and paquin him to flood the internet and t.v. with anti trump and anti russian propaganda trump spent $10000000.00 on a commercial for tonight's super bowl we fixed it for him under president truman merica stealing our veterans setting isis prisoners free losing don't reconfirm ladies and gentlemen the worst is yet. here comes the incompetence part these groups a pact with people who ran and sank hillary clinton's campaign including shadow. inc founded by a former clinton campaign manager they've spend fortunes an amateur a propaganda and apps that don't work all that todd and the money the effort just to see trump have the last laugh when will a democrat stop blaming russia russia russia instead of their own incompetence for the voting disaster that just happened in the great state of iowa i hope that the i were democrats will ask for an f.b.i. investigation on the amp i believe that russia has been engaged in interfering with a number of our elections dealing with the 21 election i'm sorry the 2016 election it's sad. all the complaining and moaning about how russians were out to ruin american elections most of the russians that did it it was the democrats their paranoia and competence they turned liberals and democrats against each other screaming and shouting accusing each other of foul play or russia could never do the democrats did we've heard the people who are responsible for this catastrophe in iowa the democratic establishment claim that it was russia's intention to undermine integrity in our voting systems in our election process the question is who really threatens us elections and now i think a lot of voters within the democratic party are finally seeing what the real threat is and it's with it's within the heart of the democratic party establishment the more that we talk about the reality of our election systems the more this russia gate hysteria just begins to fall on deaf ears and voters particularly younger voters who are social media savvy reject it angrily. the democrats suffered another setback this week when the senate voted down both their ass cause of impeachment against donald trump the president was charged with abuse of power for allegedly pressuring ukraine to investigate joe biden's son and withholding military aid and the 2nd charge was obstruction of congress where house democrats are refusing to accept the impeachment defeat trump of course is jubilant did nothing wrong. i've done things wrong in my life i will admit not purposely but i've done things wrong. but this is what the end result is. was acquitted without facts he was acquitted without a fair trial and what he says or whatever headline he wants to carry around your impeached for ever despite all the efforts to remove trump from office his ratings are as high as ever i was on a boyko discuss this with a russian pop star i'm transform a business associate who was once at the center of the russia gate scandal. i think his presidency has been unfair towards him because you know the press and the media you know everybody reflects on all the negative and we rarely hear and see what that humans that he has done in the bus to the world he's pretty good you know advertising down here he's got a little them marketing p.r. skills so they can sell the idea that's true. but you know that the miller in the investigation and the impeachment. in whatever way he could he took all the positives but in the end you know he has been winning and winning and winning every battle he had with the move in this edition with the media with all the fake news and all the allegations that he has gotten you would think that anybody has you know skeletons in his closet if you had them we would already have seen them because you know he's been probably the most studied presidential figure in the history of the united states. we can watch that interview in full after this bullets and meanwhile donald trump gave his annual state of the union speech this week and had his own private basle with the democratic speaker of the house of representatives where that also might have taken what happened to his artie's in case you missed it. thank you thank you. thank you yeah the state of the union is in a bit of a state and there's not much union she was just angry she ripped up the she ripped up the speech i prompt in house speaker nancy pelosi have taken playground politics so a whole new level you know these 2 were characters in a wrong call to go no would be happening next this was west really good. commie and handed over a speech to proceed and turned away to shake a hand although in his defense did just try and get him impeached so he is pelosi having decided that on this occasion she will not be right above it getting her revenge but it takes up. more to begin to see her rip those bits of paper i. really think he wants us. while we're here just take a look at voice president and. we all want to find someone that looks like and looks at trump's comb over there has a couple more points where they're joining us in the gallery is the true illegitimate president of venezuela one why do so this is the point we shows that even in the darkest of times there is one thing which we always you know republicans and democrats that is their ability to meddle with a foreign government this is how to win if you speak for the miracle for our spirit is still young. the soul is still rising. is still shining. and my fellow americans the best is yet to come which is definitive proof of one thing no i don't the problem wife is a speech is. you know the me is now a man who represents the jihadi group in syria was arrested in france this week the suspected war criminal had lived in hungary for months as part of an e.u. student exchange program so it depends he has the details. torture kidnapping war crimes these are just some of the charges brought against the syrian he was named on a student visa he went by the name of mushed enough made in france back in syria he was is a wish no ordinary student t. is said to have once been jayashri islamic press secretary previously nor did his freedom fighters the hardline islamist group in fact carried out a reign of terror in the eastern ghouta suburb of damascus. oh. well you know the global economy i can see that it was in his linked in profile he describes himself as being specialized in security and terrorism affairs with a focus on syria he boasts of an impressive academic background with bachelor's degrees but not one diversity's including in hungary and when it comes to experience he mentions being the c.e.o. of the syrian news monitoring network may trace of the allegations of torture or forced in this moment of children raising his history seems upped given that all islam ceased to exist back in 2018. as the battle for eastern ghouta played out the french government said it was concerned about a grave violation of human rights and it called for a cease fire now while it acknowledge the presence of just harvests it also accused president assad of using the ongoing conflict as a fig leaf to wipe out any opposition. the syrian regime and its allies are brandishing the fight against jihad his fighters the need for which no one is disputing as just if occasion of an offensive aimed at entirely different goals its real intentions are indeed to annihilate any normal position and break the morale of civilians by indiscriminately massacring them following that offensive in eastern guta by the syrian army generational islam was talk balt last year a complaint was filed to the courts in france and josh islam and its senior members and no wanted criminals. the complaint filed in june 29th teen was built on over 3 years of documentation of the crimes perpetrated by jaish al islam summary executions kidnappings and the systematic use of torture the group targeted people suspected of complicity with the regime but also ordinary civilians accuse of not applying the shari'a imposed by the group rigorously enough the international federation for human rights says the arrest of most enough where in mass a paves the way for the 1st investigation of the rebel groups crimes others may be hoping that arrests such as this will help shed more light for crimes committed by opposition forces during the syrian conflict giving a fuller picture of what really happened on the ground. paris political analyst nickel america which believes the case points to vulnerabilities in the e.u. immigration system. once you enter the european union you can go more or less where you want there are no border controls how we entered hungary would be an interesting question to know that what is. prosperous and this in this situation is that he entered legally he wasn't even hiding he was living in the why which is a neighborhood in the center smack in the center of more state you could continue studying the past with no problem whatsoever that means the police cannot do their job properly today in western europe they don't even know who's in the country we've gotten so know as to say that we don't even we don't even know if you've got the means to stop terrorists and we don't even know if terrorists are in the country we know there are some but we don't know how many and it's huge it's already difficult capturing those who are not even in hiding so i think definitely this is going to hurt a bit the government because this is very bad press very bad press having a terrorist. somebody accused of terrorism entering illegally the comfort of their country going legally to university this is very bad press so there might be some mediate coups in the following days but i think unfortunately if the government doesn't handle the process of immigration illegal immigration illegal immigration and the secret service if the government doesn't tackle these issues seriously unfortunately this these types of stories are going to continue in time. for u.s. soldiers have been killed in a shooting in afghanistan the stories coming up after the break stay tuned for that . joining me every thursday on the alex salmond chill and i'll be speaking to guest of the world the politics or business i'm showbusiness i'll see if that. is you all the dia a reflection of reality. in a world transformed. what will make you feel safe. isolation. and if you. are you going the right way or are you being led. by. what is true what is. in the world corrupted you need to descend. to join us in the debt. or a made in the shallows. welcome back to us soldiers have been killed and 6 wounded in eastern afghanistan province among wearing an afghan army uniform opened fire on the troops. an individual an afghan uniform opened fire on the combined u.s. and afghan forces with machine gun we're still collecting information on the cause or motive behind the attack is unknown at this time the afghan defense ministry has said the shooter was an afghan soldier and not a taliban infiltrator he apparently got into an argument with the american forces before i think fire the official added that 3 afghan commandos were wounded u.s. troops are facing growing hostility in the country of late coming on the increasing attacks but it comes as washington has been trying to reach a peace deal with the taliban a launch to go she ations among afghans on both sides of the conflict in his state of the union address president trump stated u.s. soldiers were not meant to serve as law enforcement agencies for other nations. research analyst at the center for conflict and peace studies at martin as army has no doubt the afghans will soon want american forces to move out. with all the collateral damage that's happening with all the civilian casualties that's happening the best of the american allies you know someone that the americans actually helped to become the president the former president hamid karzai is even speaking against the americans and criticizing the americans for whatever they're doing in afghanistan and he thinks the american presence in afghanistan is a problem there's no doubt that the afghans one point really would want the americans to leave because no country wants to live under occupation. is very strong for afghanistan. for the 1st time in nearly 100 years the domination of violence politics by its 2 main parties has been broken since a in a left wing populist party has tied with governing parties feeling of oil according to the exit poll with them all getting around 22 percent of the vote since raines unexpected surge has been the main story of the election the party is already in government in northern ireland and the election south of the border was dominated by the issues of housing and homelessness. and the fate of oil parties who have been jointly running the government ruled out going into power with sinn fein in the run up to the vote but if the early indications are correct there will have they will have to be another coalition of some thought in pre-election debates vanes leader criticize the main parties for not wanting change. you see the truth is care that seen a fall and cynic i have had us all their own way now for almost a century and the truth is that they don't want to last and i will turn as. well earlier we spoke to political commentator anthony webber for his take on the results. strange to me some of the major issues which need to be addressed in the. us the interesting thing is in the one percent of people so the right suit was an issue. clearly it will be an issue the who is interested in miles the republican vote against the it's about the starting strong so you. know i'm seeing something she's 30. 5 don't try to use what it would do you try and it wouldn't be so loving surprise me here over the years of the republic of ireland look you're going to be leaving the thing. as the us election race hates up twitter and you have announced changes the way they doctored materials or that they have been quite safe as donald courser explains. we all like a good me i know i do and that's why i'm here to warn you that there are potentially in danger all because of twitter's new war on altered images and videos that might mislead voters we know that some tweets include many pleaded photos or videos that can cost people harm today we're introducing a new rule and a label that will address and give people more context around this tweets one man satire is another man's trigger there's bound to be those who will find hilarious songs like this one unhealthy for political discourse when you told me. every level of what is boiled its definition of so-called doctored images down to a few criteria editing of the contents composition changes in its visual or auditory information and anything that simulates real people but who actually gets to make the call on what does or doesn't harm is anyone's guess are these trump dog and rocky memes. politically misleading maybe this one with bernie sanders is harmful a political satire well it's always bound to hurt someone's feelings but if you're not on twitter don't think this isn't going to step on your toes you tube's got its own version of this new policy of the 2020 election season kicks into high gear in the united states people who visit you tube to learn about the candidates and watch the election season. over the last few years we've increased or if it's to make. news and information as well as an open platform for healthy political discourse you remember that video trump supporters made portraying their president massacring the mainstream media and the church it was funny to them to the mainstream media while they were a bit offended the white house correspondents association says it is horrified by this and is calling on president trump to denounce the video c.b.s. has decided not to show that video we can't show this video because it's so disgusting it's extremely violent it is disturbing and those bad liberating videos could also be interpreted as politically misleading you're probably on the day like a bug just quit right here. we need new babies out there think we need time to make new ones because the old ones just become so big twitters netizens have already picked up on the controversy because people hom what kind of insanity is this i love how you use the word doctored because that's the in the said talk on memes the left caught me on twitter oh yeah well now no one can make your bed in the games which will cause harm to the draft we can read between the lines there will be no unapproved thought in the people's republic of twitter coverage it seems that without any ultimate authority to make the call on what is and isn't a violation so many decisions will be left to the rules vague wording who knows how internet freedom will fare as a result. the most go court has given custody of a child to social set social authours he's off the parents felt to take her home for 5 years the girl was being living in hospital almost her entire life despite doctors pointing out she's perfectly healthy the parents can appeal the decision but officials hope to eventually give the girl to her grandparents this girl is 5 years old and she's had a bizarre sheltered life this is the room where she lives it's not in a house or apartment and her relatives are not by her side it's an elite private hospital in central moscow and for her entire life she has never left its grounds for the wrestling machine or stressing her captain washington's embrace. you. can be. the voice or shearing is not her mother it's her nanny the mother has decided that her daughter is hopelessly ill and must be confined to a hospital. however doctors say that the girl is perfectly healthy and there is no medical reason to keep her in the clinic although they have been unable to discharge or without parental consent norman isn't it she doesn't know and yet in life but she's a good normal girl. the girl's parents have paid the hospital huge sums of money almost $200000.00 a year to keep her there in the company of private nannies almost a year ago the parents stopped sending their payments but they still refused to take her home and a legal battle has been raging so the hospital convinced the parents to leave their child in the hospital all this time that's the logical conclusion the child has been hospital for 5 years and the parents are not doctors they just paid the bills how reliable is the information the child is healthy and there is no need for her to stay in the hospital. on monday the corps delivered its verdict that and your resume can the parents are to be stripped of parental rights to the girl and she will be placed in the custody of child welfare services perhaps soon she will finally leave the confines of the hospital and see the world she has been drawing for all these years thanks to using oxy international we're back at the top of the hour with the latest. so what we've got to do is identify the threats that we have it's crazy to in foundation let it be an arms race is on off and spearing dramatic development only mostly i'm going to resist i don't see how that strategy will be successful very critical time time to sit down and talk. the world is driven by shaped by those great. snow dares thinks. we dare to ask. and this community there are people who believe that it's ok to sell fractional food on my table it's really hard there are no jobs and you see that i've got kids that ask and as a parent. i can come up with lots of arguments there's a lot of conflict within the game and between the teams close to the conflict i would say overhauls around money and most of their money is made. close one on the children's clothes he know each other is good business the state of california alone makes $6000000000.00 a year of prison complex just to get some point in your life where. you don't care and one of my hair is a monster so your hair might anything. and . i thought everybody was. just i don't hide away lost his boss because you got that you. wish that you know. what the pressure on us to want to go to show your grandmother when i mean we have to. do it anyway. so i says you know what i was you know. you know just i mean what i almost what a lot more people respect all part of me just going to. a checklist i have a lot coming from although there's an italian low. in the up on what i think if a person must go.
