Hello hello can you hear me Yes yes I can right OK So you're talking about this research Alex and how it's meant to be a window into the mind of the Crow tell us about about the research with these crows OK I'll tell you now and this particular kind of crow which comes from an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and island called New Caledonia use tools normally already well known to to use tools in the wild where they have never been seen and that was how Carranza search is to make a tool out of combining 2 different pieces are naturally nobody else other than humans a few chimpanzees have ever been seen doing this so this is what's striking about these because when you combine 2 things to make a chill you are somehow dissipating what got object that still doesn't exist other than your mind can actually do for you and that's why it's so striking I mean it looks as if they can imagine somehow what are the possibilities of something that still doesn't exist and make it in order to use it so they they were faced with a box with some food at the back of it which they couldn't reach but they had these little sticks in front of them that they could connect together and so they made and connected these 2 so they could reach the food Exactly that's what they did we we 1st allowed them to collect the food we gave them sticks that were long enough and they had no trouble with that I mean they picked up a stick with a beaks and they push it to the side they push the food to the side and they caught it and that was that but then we put the food in the same place but instead of giving them a long stick we gave them work in the 1st trial was using challenges that we shushed uncoupled so that we have a plant around the cylinder apart and to see what they would do. Thanks very much. So. I live here in Stony Stratford Actually I've been here for 2 years now and I absolutely love this town genuinely It's the 1st place I've. Landed my fee and gone I really want to plant some races. Doing Why do I was I really want to make my mark here. And there are pieces and I love me for the local community because it's one of those places where you walk down the High Street and everyone smiling everyone's lovely. So I looked into. The town's heritage and found out a bit more about local history and I spoke to the council and Queen Eleanor was. Something that really stood out to me so I did an amalgamation of some of the local wildlife the Queen Eleanor Cross which you spoke about. And and a few other big cities you'll have to you'll have to check out the B.B.C.'s video that they relay chefs today is callable detail on that is absolutely gorgeous Tell me about Allan it and who will she. Actually have to correct this is a bit embarrassing to the 12th century and I don't know I know I listen to you correct away history is obviously not a strong point of mine apology Well I've I've had to learn along the way as well and even when I was painting I had a lot of the locals come up and educate me. Yeah I'm sure there's an element just because I love to do it ever since I was a little kid you know my my grandparents my mom whenever I was bored age rather than give me a computer game or football they'd per piece of paper in front of me in a pen and you know get me to crack on so I've just been doing all my life how do you how do you make that transfer from a sketchbook to something that's 30 foot high I just I never understand how you can sort out the scale and how you can you know I mean I don't know how you how you do that we where where I live we have the I think it's the tallest piece of history are in the countries done by the Nomad clan and it's amazing it must be a it must be about 70 meters tall I just don't understand how you can scale it up when you're so close to it so big and what feeling now but you get what I'm saying there there's an awful always you can go about I mean you know there's there's the old grid system draw the grid and and work square by square or you can use a project but generally I find it's just an awful lot of walking down the street and looking back at it and then and then going back up and paying a local rye or you must cover the miles doing the. Painting is good for the health and good for the mind well this is fantastic it is staying up there permanently by the way. So. I think it's about 15 years. And it's cross a bunch. C. It was just a bit mind no men here so we. You knew of Johnny Yeah I knew of Johnny but I'd never work with him but he had a reputation of being like the best drummer within you know in the land Yeah so I just sent my Facebook message and said Look at this new thing on the go go studio in my basement there's a drum kit there's Mike why don't you just come around and plug a normal. And then half an hour later we'd written glacial single it was the most effortless thing ever and then for a while afterwards there are this is beginner's look how on earth are we going to follow that because it was so spontaneous but we did live for that 1st E.P. We just kept writing in the 1st 5 songs that we'd written and with the 1st 5 songs that were. It gets harder as you go along because then you kind of set your bar high and then that's when you know we're currently working on our difficult.
