His question was, if you can stare at the sun during a normal day, he doesnt understand why cant you look at the sun during an eclipse, when it is partial . I think the shorthand, laymans version of that is that the intensity of the aurora, that they are like that is getting through the ultraviolet light, is extremely dangerous during any clips during an eclipse situation. A note from one of our producers, who says according to the nasa website, a shade 14 welding helmet is the only kind adequate for the eclipse. So there you go. Many companies that make these have sold out. Shade 14u do have this welding lens, you had better check closely, because nasa says that is the holy one that will suffice. We are letting you know, at about 80 totality here in commerce, texas. So, unfortunately we are not going to be 100. But our faculty at texas a m university commerce, is traveling north to grand island, about two hours west of lincoln. So they will experience totality up there, that way. Agree a big group of them, and alumni, are going up that way. The northern part of texas, being such a big state, i guess you are closer toward the path of totality. Absolutely. And my daughter, she is in girl scouts, and they are having a solar event, this weekend, where the girl scouts are camping out and they are going stay out at night, and theyre going to have telescopes, and theyre going to view it from the highest point of the campground with theiy are going to be camping. That might be more difficult with an iphone. But, check it out. You may have that capability. You do it moments before and after totality, when the sunlight is still blinding. They say this will eliminate the sun blooming, and give you a clear image of the solar disk. So use a filter on that, particularly if it is an slr camera. I was just wondering if you are able to see it from ohio . And are you able to see coast to coast, because of the equator, the projection of the equator . To see coaste coast because of the tracking of the moon, and the alignment of the sun. Way of the alignment of the two heavenly bodies, the sun and the moon.
