These are adult defendants. The idea of having a juvenile or a minor disappear, its a question of searching through all of his social media history, trying to see his phone records. One report is that he is with relatives in the south. Trying to locate him is difficult. We are going to get more information. Its very hard to disappear in 2019 soon to be 2020. Leland especially as a 14yearold. Thats about it that has a Sophisticated Network and knows how to run and has done it before. We think about the murder itself. The reason the 14yearold is so critical to the cases that he has been implicated by the 13yearold is the one who actually did the stabbing. This with this come with a 13yearold is the key to this whole case. He says the 14yearold is the one that did the actual stabbing. The 13yearold was brought up a different murder charges that would say that hes not the one directly responsible, but he was there. Is that true . Is that the real story . Does that mean the 14yearold is the one that did it . We dont know that yet. Thats why the statement that the 13yearold is kept close to the chest right now. If they bring the 14yearold income if they want to match up his story to what the 13yearold said. Does it make sense . Leland what about that statement . There are serious questions about how it was obtained. That has that problem. We are talking about a juvenile. And we talk about minors, who are being implicated in a murder, these serious crimes are felonies, the question becomes, where they coerced . We have seen history in cases before where it does not look lively on Police Departments on how the ultimately question these victims. One of the things is with this 13yearold, he did not have a lawyer present. That is problematic. Leland we have put up her picture. Nypd had to have known in the homicide detectives had to have known that this was going to instantly be a huge case. A College Freshman stabbed to death in a park near College Campuses right before christmas. And yet, they did not give the 13yearold of all year. You would think after that central park five and other cases they would be more cognizant of the optics. Molly thats why Defense Attorneys are going to jump on this and say i know what is being played out in the media. We dont want to play this out in the media. We dont want him convicted. We want to know what is going to happen in a court room. The fact that he did not have a lawyer present this is a 13yearold. What did he believe is happening . Does he have information against the other individuals . Is he saying with the Police Wanted him to say . Its a legit question. We will see it in courtrooms throughout. Given the ages of the suspect, that is a problem for the prosecution. Leland the problem from the prosecution if it becomes an adult case or even if it stays in juvenile . Even if it stays in juvenile court. As they are going to be tried if they get this 14yearold in custody and hes openly convicted of firstdegree murder, that could be at life in prison. We know the Supreme Court has said that juveniles are convicted i cannot paste life in prison without the possibility of parole. Weve seen time and in time out where these young people actually do spend the rest of their life in prison because they keep getting denied parole. Its a sad case from a number of different angles. It may be that all of the aca is separable from the individual mandate or it may also be that some of the aca is severable from the individual mandate and some is not. Even if they later on today to launch any kind of test missile or Something Like that, a lot of people in washington are going to be up in arms and talk about President Trump realizes it wont be in the crisis. We remain in the dominant position militarily, economically, and diplomatically. That being said, if we dont want these things to continue, we do have to change our ability to engage diplomatically at a potential winwin scenario. We can move this down and move towards peace. It will have to be a change in engagement. Molly what are the next steps . You mentioned the sections are in place. There is no reason to think they will be lifted particularly with north koreas most recent behavior. We have to understand something. Those that think that we want to go for a full denuclearization up front before we release any sanctions like john bolton advocates that is a complete dead end. If you go down that path, these kinds of things are going to continue to go on. But we can do is moderate that is say we are willing to go on a stepbystep basis. If you take concrete steps, we are willing to take concrete steps also. We will have to get in position where we are willing even with someone as heinous as kim jong un is, because he is a murderous dictator. You have to give him an ability to get a win so we can get the things that we want. The bottom line is that the security remains intact. Molly there are new efforts with the president s going to the historic meetings. It seemed like there was trying to create some sort of relationship. The last six months of the year he start at the rocket tests back up again. How do we get back to that negotiating table . If not, perhaps no return to the warmth between the World Leaders between President Trump and kim jong un. How do we get the negotiators back to the table . I will tell you. I was there in february and there was a deal on the table ready to be had that could have moved us closer to peace. The korean government was all about that. They were completely in support of that. It appears from what we heard that john bolton undercut that and induce the president not to go with that. That deal can still be resurrected and can start the course toward reconciliation, which they want. It helps our emphasis and moves us towards peace. We have to be engaged on things they can be done. Start small and we can move on to more substantive things. Molly it is fascinating to hear you talk about that. Potential for new leadership and a new year in 2020. What do you think we get it back to that point . I hope that President Trump takes a much more proactive role in this and maybe with the guys not pushing back against him his instincts have been right almost from the beginning especially in Foreign Policy issues.
