Ive got three kids that fell from the ferris wheel. Three kids. Reporter three children reportedly 10 to 12 years old in a terrifying fall from a ferris wheel in eastern tennessee. Investigators say the car carrying the young passengers snagged on another cart on its way up spilling them out. One witness saying the children bounced off the metal briding of the ride eventually hitting the ground 30 to 45 feet below. I just feel real bad for the little kids, you know, they just screamed a little bit, and then they just hit the ground and was but they were so little and i hate seeing Something Like that. Reporter two helicopters and an ambulance transporting the children to the hospital. Authorities say they were alert and even talking after the accident. This morning investigators interviewing witnesses trying to figure out what went wrong. Were considering that and treating it like a crime scene at this point till we can determine whether there was any malfunction, make sure there was no foul play, that it was just an accident. An accident, indeed. The names of the injured passengers have not been released. We do know that the oldest is 16 years old. The fair will be open today, but the rides are closed. That ferris wheel incident comes as officials reveal new details over an accident at a kansas water park. Police say 10yearold caleb schwab died from a neck injury while riding the worlds tallest water slide. Two other passengers in his raft suffered only minor injuries. They say he somehow slid behind the raft during the ride. I heard a couple of loud something hit the slide like boom, boom and looked at my cousin who was standing next to me and said, i think thats a body outside the raft. And as i get closer and put my hand on the slide, the lifeguard says theres nothing you can do. Some park guests claim that the water slides harness was not working properly earlier that day. This is the first fatal accident at that park, and the park will be closed again today.
