Reporter this is a pretty Stunning Development that you just mentioned, the kasich and Cruz Campaign sort of working together. The idea is that cruz would concentrate on indiana, kasich would concentrate on oregon and new mexico and they would stop donald trump from getting the nomination. Now kasich was just here at the penn rose diner just about 20 or so minutes ago. We were here as he went in to shake hands with people, take some pictures and do some final campaigning here in pennsylvania before this primary tomorrow. Now inside there were supporters of his. There were also volunteers who have come here from all over the country to help him with his campaign. I talked to some of them about what they think about this new arrangement. They told me they like it because they do want an open convention where governor kasich would have a possibility of getting the nomination. Here is what john kasich had to say about it himself. Im not going to go tell anybody how to vote. They can look, i mean, this is a matter of resources and, you know, we are running a National Campaign and we want to apply our resources where we think they can be used most effectively. Its all designed to stop Hillary Clinton from becoming president. Reporter interesting there that he talked about stopping Hillary Clinton from becoming president as opposed to just stopping donald trump from getting the nomination because he has said over and over again that he does not believe that donald trump can beat Hillary Clinton in november and that he is the one who can do that. You also heard him talking about asking people who they are going to vote for. The idea is who should people in indiana vote for . Is he actually going to tell them to vote for ted cruz . He said, no, thats not the case. Theyre not going that far. It is more an issue of resources instead of taking those resources out of indiana, putting them somewhere else and for him campaign hopefully getting to that open convention in cleveland. Now live in south philadelphia, im lauren mayk, nbc news. They say politics makes strange bedfellows. Senator cruz 4e8d a Campaign Rally in indiana this morning. The senators spoke to supporters at a winery in the southeastern part of that state. Indianas one of the states where cruz is focusing his attention. Governor kasich has shifted resources away from indiana to clear the path for cruz. The senator spoke about that, the agreement, just a short time ago. Take a listen. After discussions with the kasich campaign, we made a decision about allocating resources. We decided to allocate our time and energy and resources on the state of indiana. Governor kasich decided to allocate his resources elsewhere. I think that made sense from both campaigns. Cruzs rival, donald trump, will be in our area this afternoon. Hes holding a Campaign Rally at Westchester University a little later. On the democratic side, both candidates will be in our area today as well. Nbc 10s Pamela Osborne is live in wilmington New Castle County where former secretary of state Hillary Clinton is holding a campaign event. Pamela, you told us earlier theres quite a crowd there. Reporter absolutely, vai. This crowd stretched o almost the entire length of this street here. People waiting for the opportunity to hear hillary speak. I want to take you inside that rally as its happening as a moment former delaware gov, tom harper is speaking to the crowd there. A lot of support for hillary here. I have to tell you the crowd is incredibly diverse. There are people of all ages from all backgrounds really just looking to hear from hillary herself before they head to the polls tomorrow. She is expected to speak to that crowd. When she does shes talking gun violence, raising the income for families. People weve talked to say their minds pretty much are made up. Yeah, im 100 . Im 19 so its my first time voting. Im excited to be able to vote for possibly the first woman president. Our plan to put america past Renewable Energy in the past ten years is something that speaks to me as a vote injur. When you have a chance to make history and have such a qualified person for whom you can work your heart out, theres just Nothing Better than that. Reporter people say they were looking forward to getting a place inside of there. Again, to hear hillary speak before they head to the polls tomorrow. Also worth mentioning, it was so packed in there that some people even tried to get in but it was too late. Certainly a lot of people i can at thatting advantage of this oneonone time with the democratic frontrunner here in wilmington. Reporting live, im Pamela Osborne, nbc 10 news. Pamela, thank you. Clintons rival, meanwhile, senator Bernie Sanders held a rally this morning in connecticut. He told a crowd in hartford that he would address income inequality. Tonight the Democratic Candidates for president will be in philadelphia to speak to voters on the eve of the pennsylvania primary. Traditions are part of every single family. When someone loses a loved one its often tough to go on, but theres an organization in our area dedicated to helping children and teens who have lost a parent to help them grieve, heal, celebrate life and preserve those important family traditions. This weekend a Family Foundation is holding its 12th annual race for tradition. Here to tell us more is Allison Henry and stacy grant. Thank you very much for coming in. Tell us about your organization and who you serve. We are a family lives on. We support children ages 3 to 18 who have experienced the death of a parent. We help fund an activity that they did every year until they turn 18 an its part of a Therapeutic Service to help them through the grieving process. Why did you settle on children and teenagers, that specific age, that group . Theres many different reasons. Its such an impressionable time in the developmental stage, those years. Its a great way for them to know they arent a loern and their activities and memories are important about their parent. It helps them stay connected with their parent through the years even though they are no longer there presently. Theyre always with them and their memories. Did you guys have a personal experience with this as children or with your own families thats made it powerful for you guys to be involved . I can speak to that. My father died when i was older, but i think youre always a child when your parent dies. So its very touching for all of us to be involved with this organization. Tell us whats in store for the race on saturday . Its going to be a lot of fun. Its always been a good time. Im actually on the board of directors. To find out more about the foundation, we have a brandnew website, family lives on. Org. That was created by j 2. Theres tons of sponsorships still available. My company has been sponsoring. Its a fun event. You can run, walk, push your kids. Its not a broad street event. Its really casual and fun or can you put your children actually in the event. Toddlers in the toddler run. Its a good family. Tell me what the response has been from the kids who have gone through this process. Whats your response . The response is so overwhelming earlytive and encouraging. We have a lot of kids that say we didnt know how to connect with our parent. We felt like they were gone forever but then through tradition fulfillment, through conversations with their parent during the day and the activity, it helps them bond and become closer and also communicate with their parent that is alive about their thoughts, feelings, emotions which is important. The 12th annual race for traditions is happening this saturday, april 30th at eagle view town center in exton. The 5k begins at 9 00 a. M. Well have a link there at nbc10. Com and nbc 10 app. Allison, stacy, thank you very much for coming in. Thank you so much. Appreciate it. Thank fun. Thank you.
