Community activists say keeping atrisk kids on the streets , which may become a problem. They chased us all the way down the street all the way to 44th and chambers. People from the community who live near sherman park vent their frustrations with how theyve been treated in the area over the last few days. Milwaukee police, Sheriff Deputies and neighbors to discuss Community Relations and the violence thats plagued the area since a deadly officer involved shooting. I think the message was sent that we are all working together. We want to try and bring about change and try and help the young people of this community and the Bigger Picture is that , we can. Community activists like vaun mays says keeping sherman park closed is a huge disadvantage for the kids he tries to mentor. Now theyre being pushed back out into the community where they can go whichever way. Many kids look forward to the programs in the park everyday and for some the pizza thats , served there is the only meal they get. About what Community Organizers do for them. Some of these kids eat, some of them dont. Vaun and them, they come feed the kids. Them doing that, they are taking the kids. Its just unexplainable. Many of these organizers pay out of their own pockets to fund these programs. The hoping to talk with elected officials soon to get funding to help even more kids. Kathy thanks. Were learning the officer involved in the Fatal Shooting that sparked last weekends violence was once an aspiring rapper who rapped about rioting. . . I am going to start a riot like it was baltimore . Kathy police have not released the officers name, but 12 news has learned the Milwaukee Police when he worked as a police aide. He passed a background check and got into the academy. Two years ago, he hit the streets as a sworn officer. And despite some reports the officer and the armed man he shot, sylville smith, knew each other from high school, we have verified they did not go to high School Together but they did , know each other from the neighborhood. Police say the officer has been getting threats and is staying with relatives out of town as the state investigates. Wisn 12 news Adrienne Pederson examines that part of the story, coming up. Brown deer police say they got a call a male tied up his parents and threatened them with a gun. Then, feof home brought out the swat team and the bomb squad. Police tonight tell us that no explosives were found. Everyone in the house left peacefully. No one was taken into custody. The incident remains under investigation. Anybody know the suspects, i just want the suspects to turn themselves in. Joyce a milwaukee mother loses her daughter in a hit and run. 22yearold tyann bunch was struck and killed crossing the street near fond du lac and oak. 12 news terry sater talked to pleading for the suspects to turn themselves in. I noticed they tried to hose down her blood but it was still , there. Holding her daughter tyanns High School Graduation picture tasha bunch talks about rushing , to the spot on fond du lac avenue where her 22yearold , daughter was hit tuesday night. Witnesses said that it was two young men that fled the scene. The suspects left a 1999 Cadillac Deville behind and ran off, leaving tyann to die in the street. This is where tyann was struck and killed. Her mom says shes not mad at the suspects. She just wants to know what happened. All im saying is they just need to turn themselves in. If anybody knows them or theyre watching the news, just turn yourself in. Me and my family we have not had , any sleep. Mom says tyann was trying to cross fond du lac near oak heading to the store with her , girlfriend. Her girlfriend waited to cross. Tyann didnt. Now she is gone. Middle of the night because she knew i worked second shift. And when i came home, me and her would be on the phone talking. Thing i have left is pictures and memories of my daughter. She says it was an awful way to find out. An illinois woman dies after being hit by a car overnight in walworth county. This was the scene last night on highway 50 in the town of geneva. The Sheriffs Office says the woman, who was 54, had left a nearby hotel and was walking on the highway when she stepped into the right lane of eastbound traffic and was hit. The driver stayed on scene and cooperated with police. No charges have been filed at this time. Kathy caught on camera taking cash, a fired Cudahy Police dispatcher made her First Court Appearance today. Melissa mueller pleaded not guilty to misconduct in office in photos provided by Cudahy Police, she is shown handling cash at the reception window last month. Well its not that simple. , the officers picture spread quickly on social media. His name mentioned more than 50,000 times on facebook. Some are even threatening his according to an associate professor of law at marquette , bruce boyden, thats not smart, but its legal. There are a privacy rights the officer involved would have in going against people who would do that. Adrienne according to boyden, if somethings ruled an empty threat, its also allowed to stay up online, but calls for immediate violence are different. Saying to a bunch of friends of yours online or offline lets all go out and throw rocks and burn police cars. That could be punished and speech like that could be taken down by the government and police if they found it. Adrienne we checked with mpd and they tell us they cant remove social media posts , directly. But Facebook Says in emergency situations, Law Enforcement can ask the site to take down posts. Just within the last 30 minutes i heard back from someone at , facebook. She wasnt sure if the site shut down any pages here in milwaukee because of threats to the officer. Smith says he wanted a chance to talk to kids under 17 to offer encouraging words after the recent violence, while giving them a free haircut.
