Elias in march the Iowa Department of transportation ordered des moines and three other iowa cities to take down speed cameras placed on interstates. In the metro, thats those on i235. The dot said the cameras were no longer needed, but the city refused saying it was a matter of safety. Their refusal has now sent the issue to the courtroom. Along with the fight against the dot, des moines has also been sued by two individuals over cameras. So far the speed cameras remain in operation. Elias next, the case of a man who went on a shooting spree in Pleasant Hill last year. Elias in october the trial of pete polson came to a verdict, finding him guilty and later sentencing him to 55 years in jail. Polson was convicted on several charges, including attempted murder, stemming from a 2014 shooting spree in Pleasant Hill. During his testimony, polson claimed he didnt remember what happened due to being heavily intoxicated. However, the victims also had their chance to speak, Holding Nothing back as they addressed polson. An appeal is expected in the case. Elias 2015 began with a major announcemed from the aib college of business. Elias after almost a hundred years of educating students, the college said the 2015, 2016 Academic Year would be its last. This fall, they did not accept any new freshman, with enrollment at 348 students. Now become an extension of the university of iowa. Aib will officially close on june 30 of 20 16. Elias Water Quality issue in the lawsuit over nitrates. Elias works filed a lawsuit against sac, calhoun, counties over raccoon river.
