Hes now the acting director of the fbi and hes stepping in for fired director james comey that testimony before the Senate Intelligence committee was scheduled before tuesdays shake up. That hearing will focus on worldwide threats to the united states. Meanwhile, that same committee has now slapped former National Security adviser Michael Flynn with subpoena. It wants documents regarding his contact with russian officials. The summons comes after flynns lawyers said they will in the release documents which the panel had first requested last month. Flynn is one of four former trump aids that Senate Investigators zen requests to. President trump fired flynn after less than a month on the job after he reportedly misled the white house about his communications with russian officials during the president ial transition. The drama on capitol hill does not end there as the fallout continues over the firing of james comey as fbi director. The department of justice is now denying reports that comey quested more resources for the investigation into russian meddling. Just days before his firing. Comey who was spotted outside his home did pen letter to colleagues and friends saying i have long believed that a president can fire an fbi director for any reason or for no reason at all. Im not going to spend time on the decision or the way it was he can cuted. I hope you wont either. But democrats are already using the comey firing to renew their calls for a special prosecutor to take over the fbis investigation into alleged ties between the kremlin and the trump campaign. This special prosecutor would have much greater latitude who he can subpoena, which questions they ask, how to conduct an investigation. The number of staff caught up in child abuse or misconduct cases in Prince Georges County schools continues to grow. This is definitely a story we have been following for weeks now, and you know, we can tell you that School Officials are actually going to be revamping and reviewing some school po policies because of whats going on out here. The nu numbers just havent gotn better. In fact they have gotten work. About a month ago we told you that 636 636, yes, cases were reported for misconduct and in just one month it spiked to 788. So youre looking at 152 more cases in the School District so were talking about hundreds of staff administrative leave at some point this school year for alleged child abuse or neglect, and were also told that most of them will not be returning to work. Now, we talked to some teachers and they tell us that the Staggering Number isnt about abuse or the mass abuse but a system that just isnt working. After some high profile child abuse cases in the county, Prince Georges County schools they felt like they kneed to do more to protect students and so they revamped their current policies and teachers say that, you know, while they agree that more needed to be done, the new policies could be doing more harm than good. And some teachers we spoke to said theyre so afraid of these new rules that they have theyre afraid to even help students in some cases because of the physical contact that could be involved and so School Officials tell us that they will be reviewing these policies again and by this summer they hope to organize some training as well as far as reporting these incidents. It is a baby literally i feel like weve given birth to this project and our goal hopefully is to kind of change the face of Reality Television the show that people dont mind seeing aspiaspirinexpiration instead oe tearing each other down. I think a lot of people look at Plastic Surgery you think its about vanity and someone wanting to just change their outside but youre not only fixing the outside you mentioned the inside which is ho therapist. You are therapists real toll these patients. Thats the big component of the show. Every patient that walks through the door is getting a transformation in life. It isnt just the outside its from the inside out when they walk in our doors, they are part of a family and this kind of all started when i was doing, what do you, you know, i was in news anchor and i would see these patients come through the door because i was a news anchor by night. His assistant by day. And so i would talk to the patients i found myself doing a patient consultation and actually interviewing them and i would get to the bottom of their story and people were hurting. They were suffering and they wanted, you know, help and so i wanted to be able to tell these stories and bring it to the for front. And like you said, its not just vanity. Peoples lives are really being changed here. I know we talk about your personal life in the series we see you talking about your up bringing and some things that are pretty painful for you that you scharr with the public. Talk about the enact i started out as an orphan. When you cut out certain foods and you starve yourself you binge and basically you gain back all weight that you lost previous. Some people use the weekend as and excuse they were good all week. When you incorporate everything in your diet and you dont leave out anything you dont fell like youre depriving yourself. That in and of itself you can maintain for a long period of time in about finding a healthy recipe for brownie that actually tastes good . For me, you can eat the regular brownie if you want but i like to eat high volume foods im almost hungry a lot of people are. So i try and find more high volume foods so i can eat more of it. If i can eat three of these brownies in mace of just one regular brownie then im going to go for the healthier brownie. Gotcha. Okay. That makes sense. We dont want a lot of time on the recipes all of your recipes and or on your website. You found substitute. Yes its called swerve. One for one with sugar does not have the after taste of steve ya. Its not bitter or anything. And you can use it in anything that you would normally put sugar in. Only find it on amazon right now. All i really found it on. Lets work out. If you are to stick if you were to give yourself two weeks just two short weeks to get on plan that one is tougher. Half an hour day. Youll see results in quick as two weeks. Youll feel better. Youll sleep better. Youll just all around just be feel better. So when you find those simple results win weeks, it should motivate you to do another week. You got to chip away each day. You cannot look at it that youre going to lose the 10 pounds in ten days. Its just not possible. Longterm consistency slow and steady progress is the best progress that youre going to get. Im guessing that chair is not there for to us sit and take a rest in. Chair is a great tool that you can use and you can do it in hotel room. You can do it at the park when youre with your kids. You can do it at home baby is sleeping whatever it is. You can do lots and lots of different exercises. Youre able to eat whatever you want as long as it fits your mack crows. Mack crows are based on total calories. So i device the plan based on your activity, your height, youre doing great job. These are burgers smell amazing mike and amy are in town promoting brand new book just hit the shelves praise the lard recipes and revelations from a legendary life in barbecue amazing mc hers amazing recipes in here. Thanks for coming lot. Thank you were so excited to be here. Of all the recipes in here youll give us a treat the Pimento Cheeseburger today. Thats what mike is cooking up, right. Thats right. What are we take making whats the secret to great burger there . Low and slow and good quality meat. Low and slow and good quality meat. Outwent get a little bit of fat in the meat, right. You absolutely do. Were using a combination of brisket and about 49 lean. That sounds really good. You can just smell it. You use your own rub 17th street rub i think the seasoning is just as important, right . Absolutely. Burger can be just salt and pepper this is our special dry rub. Its 18 or so secret ingre ingredients, and its good on everything but ice cream we like to say but it aids a special nice salty sweet taste to burgers. And the Pimento Cheese you actually add a hot s wing sauce and recipe in the book we add dashes of that in a lot of our food it really gives it an extra little sip to the pump mento cheese. Whole pump men toes another secret you mix in the cheese. Yes. Really also important to use a whole block of cheese and great that yourself. If you if you use the cheese thats already pre shredded theres cellulose in that kind of a different texture. In different flavor. Freshly greated. Whizzed in the Food Processor to the right consistency. How much cheese would you put on top of a burger. Nice spoonful. Be generous with it. Yes. Be very generous. How long do you cook the burgers approximately . Depend on the grill heat. About three, three and a half minutes. Okay. Per side. Per side. Yes. Get it nice and medium. At least 155 temperature wise to make them nice and healthy. Those are all good tips for our summer barbeques as well. You know what pairs nicely way great cheeseburger cheeseburger can benefit from of one can benefit from delicious cocktail. Exactly. What we have over her our take on the saul tee dog that of course we call the salty pig. Right. Love that name. We start with some mixture of kosher salt and sea salt with chopped rosemary and we spread this out on cookie sheet and bake it for little bit just to get it dry. I love the smell of fresh rosemary. Its so delish. So fragrant. People can this in their herb garden and pig a spring its wonderful i like to salt just the outside of the glass so that the salt doesnt fall down inside. Make your drink really salty. Yeah. You want to rim those glasses and set them over here to dry. Pinch of lime and rub on the outside ex exactly. They look so pretty with the flex of green. We like to grill our fruit for or cocktails it adds a loll char flavor. It make it jews see eighty three and it just adds little bit more depth and did he mention to that cocktail. So youre going to grill put them right on the grill. Put them right on the grill next to the burgers. You want to get just little bit of a grill mark but you dont want it fruit does burn very quickly. So just a little bit of a char there. Quick grill and whip up our cocktail. Whip up our cocktail. You can squeeze that. I have here a simple syrup. This is one equal parts of sugar which is raw sugar. Oh wow. That adds little bit deeper of a sugary flavor and water. You boil that. Oh wow. This is simple sweetener. Im jumping ahead to the alcohol, guys. Exactly. This just a sweetener. You can use this in iced tea or any cold drink. The simple syrup allows the sugar to absorb you dont have grains flo floating to the bottf your glass. Gives eight good flavor. Exactly. Exactly. Of course we have Great American made vodka here.
