Ware Academy varsity basketball teams opened the season this month by splitting their first two games. Both the varsity boys and girls won their season opener with Summit Christian Academy from Newport News on Dec. 7. The Ware boys won, 35-24, and the girls prevailed, 24-15. Both Ware teams fell to Walsingham on Monday.
