Toward the Lehigh Valley, allentown, moving toward bethlehem north and west. Mount pocono, it is all rainfall because temperatures have been in the mid to even upper 40s early on this saturday morning. Some light showers moving back toward philadelphia. Getting a bit of a break sections of south jersey and delaware, but well go hour by hour. Not a complete wash out. But keep the rain gear handy. Were looking at on and off again showers. We are hearing shows in stable condition here at chop recovering from gunshot wound just two days before christmas. Police tell thus shooting hammed last night just before 11 00 oclock on the 5900 block of springfield avenue. That is in southwest philadelphia. The childs father was trying to carry the daughter out every the car and was walking up to their house when they were confronted by people in a red car. Investigators say the four door vehicle drove by once, did a uturn and drove by a second time. That is when people in the car opened fire. The fouryearold girl took bullet to the leg. Her father was not hit by gunfire. Several car windows on the block were shot out and perhaps prevented the victims from being more seriously injured. Two in the back were described as wearing hoodies over their head hiding themselves. Shots were fired from the occupants of the car. The child was shot once in the upper right leg. If it wasnt for a parked vehicle situated in between the shooters and the sidewalk, there could have been more damage. Reporter investigators are treating this as target shooting. Police are looking for the shooters. Four men driving around in a red sedan. Police are looking for Surveillance Video. Now so that they can get better description of those people involved. Bill . In the Lehigh Valley, a gunman is dead following a ninehour standoff with police in bethlehem township. The man barricaded himself inside a house on dennis street yesterday afternoon. Police had gone to the home to help a woman who had been shot in the front yard. Officers were force to do back off as gunshots rang out. For some time now republicans have dominated the debate over vote fraud by claiming with little hard evidence that crook voters usually democrats registered in more than one place are casting ballots in multiple locations and thus stealing elections for democra democrats. At the same time theres been precious little conversation about the far larger scandal. Legislative districts so Jerry Mandered that Congressional Election results bear little resemblance to the will of the voters. In pennsylvania, where the aggregate vote for congressional candidates across all 18 districts more or less 50 50 the congressional delegation that results from those elections isnt nine republicans and nine democrats or ten republicans and eight democrats. Its 13 republicans and five democrats. You heard that right. Republicans win just over 50 of the total vote and capture 72 of the elections. A virtual theft of three legislative seats. I say theft because republican lawmakers control the once a decade redrawing of legislative maps, and after 2010, used Computer Technology to skillfully design legislative districts that give the gop a measurable discernible advantage in lots of districts while giving democrats lopsided wins in a handful of districts. Let me make two thing very clear. One, democrats also jerry mander when theyre in control and, two, some of this is naturally occurring. Big cities like philadelphia, for example, tend to have lots of democrats and that means lots of wasted votes when you within a race by 80 to 20 . But gerrymandering explains much of this phenomenon. I happen to live in the pennsylvania seventh. A polling miss shane district that stretches from eastern Delaware County to as far as i can southern montana. Its been drawn by republicans for republicans. And it includes lots of communities with list else in common other than giving the gop just enough votes to hold the seat. Now, left you think this complaint is purely partisan stick with me because the damage done by jerry mandering is more insidious than you might imagi imagine. By packing democrats into a handful of districts with lopsided majorities those democratic incumbents quic quicy get lazy entitled a insured a victory every two years. They have little incentive to work hard and stay in touch with their constituents. In philadelphia, for years democrats chaka fattah and bob brady were those all but guaranteed winners. Now fattah sits in federal prison. Convicted on numerous corruption charges. And brady believed by many to have engage in Campaign Shenanigans has federal agents sniffing around him like fox hounds on fire hydrant. I mention all of this because a challenge to pennsylvanias gerrymandering working its way through the courts. Heres hoping the judicial system does the right thing and demands new maps. The current ones managed to sub met the will of the voters and in philadelphia turning winning candidates into losing lawmake lawmakers. Only in philly. Thank you as always bruce. Were following breaking news in kingsessing. A fouryearold girl is in the hospital after she was shot in a drive by shooting. The intended target police say was the girls father. Jenny joyce joins us from Childrens Hospital of philadelphia with more information. Good morning once again, jenny. Reporter good morning, bill. So this child is listed in stable condition here at chop. She is recovering from a gunshot wound just two days now before christmas. Of course, we are praying for her. And we are waiting to hear more information about how all of this happened. So police tell us that the shots were fired last night just before 11 00 oclock. This was on the 5900 block of springfield avenue. Thats when police tell us that this the father of the little girl was carrying his daughter out of the car. They were walking up to their house near 60th street when they were confronted by people in a red car. Investigators say the four door vehicle drove by once, did a u turn, drove by a second time. That is when people in the car opened fire. The fouryearold girl took a bullet to the leg. Her father was not hit by the gunfire. Several car windows on the block were shot out and perhaps prevented the victims from being more seriously injured. Two in the back were described as wearing hoodies over their head. Hiding themselves. Shots were fired from the occupants of the car. The child was shot once in the upper right leg. If it wasnt for a parked vehicle situated in between the shooters, and the sidewalk there could have been more damage. Reporter investigators are treating this as a targeted shooting. Now police are looking for the shooters four men driving around in red sedan. Police are also looking for Surveillance Video to help them get a better description of the these people involved. Bill . In the Lehigh Valley, a gunman is dead following a ninehour standoff with police in bethlehem township. The man barricaded himself inside a house on dennis street yesterday afternoon. Police had gone to the home to help a woman who had been shot in the front yard. Officers were forced to back off as gunshots rang out. The neighborhood was placed under lock down. Lets go with jumanji first. Diehard jumanji is its sequel to the classic Robin Williams film from the 90s. Listen i grew up on the first jumanji. One of my favorite movies of all time much it still holds dawn. This is a sequel. What that means, it take place in the same universe as the Robin Williams film just many, many years later. Robin williams character is preferenced in the film. This time around you have four teenagers who are detention they find an old video game console and will theyre playing it they get suck into the game and become the avatars who they were playing. For example, the rock whos in the film hes actually a nerdy high school teenager who had just finds himself in this gigantic muscular guys body. Thats funny. Jack black is a 1684 old girl. Its really really funny how they pull it all off. [ laughter ] it really really clever. If youre video game fan they do lot of cool things with video games and three lives. I enjoyed it. I dont think its as classic as the original 90s Robin Williams movie but if youre a fan of the rock or kevin hart or jack black or Karen Guillen youll have fun time with it. I gave 83. 5 out of five. I like the premise. That sounds really good. Jack black being a 16yearold girl. How about greatest showman. This is an example where you have the sound track is better than the movie itself. I love hugh jackman i think hes great in this role so is zac efron and zendaya its about pt barnum and the circus. The songs in this film are a ten out of ten. I listen to the sound track all the time. I absolutely love it. The problem with the film is the lip sync. When theyre lip sinning it seems like theyre lip syncing it feels like music video at times. Also, its way too rushed in the beginning but i will say the message is great. The songs are great and the performances are great. I just wish that the whole film lived up to that. I gave 83 out of five. A c. Lets talk water gate and Washington Post the movie call the post. Yeah. What a film this is. This is Steven Spielberg very timely movie he started shooting back at the recommend of may this year. Its coming out now. You have ben bradley playing the executive editor of the post and meryl streep playing the publisher of the post and its about posting the pentagon papers. Publishing pentagon papers and it is a timely film incredible parallels to whats happening now. Beautiful messages about freedom of press and equality. It is incredibly shot on 35millimeter film it looks beautiful, John Williams music. I love this movie i gave 4. 5 out of five. Oh. Everything about the bev thing about this movie is, mike . We know we know that the post publish the papers in the early 70s during the nixon era but spielberg is such a great story teller, you forget forget they posted them and you find yourself on the edge of your seat wondering. Before we jump into the craziness, can you teach us some poses that maybe we can find our zen . Yes. So the first pose im going to show is you called a modified heart bench and if you have a block at home you can do this with block or not. Take right underneath your shoulders and come to lying on your back. Bringing your feet in a cross leg position. And just letting your palms face up towards the ceiling. This is really nice. Heart opener, chest opener, your hips are getting a nice sleep stretch and focusing and learning, you know, telling yourself how to breathe, nice deep slow restorative pose. Thats easy enough. If you dont have a block im sure you have something at home you can use. You can just lay flat on your back. Heart and chest is open and palm also are facing up towards the hell. Another simple exercise that maybe i can do with you. Whats that . Coming on to your hands and knees. This is really great for lengthening stretching out through the spine. For cow pose take a really big breath in and lengthen as you gaze up towards the ceiling and then on your he can hail you round the spine tucking the chin towards the chest. Again this is really really great just for warping up the body warming up the spine. Taking really deep in breaths and out breaths. What happens inside of our body when we focus on our breathing and how does it work to destress. In this pose particular, um, based on the arch of the spine and the gaze going up, inhaling will really really help to destress and exhale as you round will really really help. Report row report okay. I love that its easy enough for all of us to do at home. If you have like two minutes you might just wanted to this before you head to the mall later today. And a third and final position. This last pose is definitely the post restorative out of the three. You just go to any wall in your house. Youre going to scooch your hips as close to the wall as you can. And just bring your legs right up the wall. Youre flecking your feet towards your face. This is also still opening through the chest through the heart. Your palms will come down facing up towards the ceiling. So this is really great for blood circulation. It regulates the circulation gettingetting the blood back upe heart. So this is a nice restorative pose if you have tired legs, if you have tired feet, stretches out through the backs of the legs especially during the Holiday Season. I always have tired leg especially running a million errands like ill be doing later today. This is a great one. When you guys get home tonight you should be trying out this pose.
