Leadership isn t something Tyme Marama Gould has sought. Instead, leadership has found her.
A former student at Whanganui Girls College, Gould filled numerous leadership roles at the school over her time including prefect and house captain. Most people look to me than I look to myself. I ve sort of been in leadership roles my whole life from primary, intermediate, high school and in work life.

Photo / File Fonterra s capital restructure proposals, due to be revealed today, have been kept surprisingly watertight considering it has 10,000 heavily invested and involved farmer-shareholders, but it s a safe bet the main thrust will be measures to stop milk supply loss by demanding less capital from its farmers.
This New Zealand s biggest company and the world s fourth largest dairy company by revenue could do by making it less costly to join and supply milk to the big farmer-owned co-operative.

A group of residents are recognizing all the first responders during the Horse River wildfire in a unique way.
A recently discovered fallen log along Tower Road was cut, sanded, and turned into 24 plaques thanking those who helped everyone evacuate the community.
This includes the four local Fire Halls and Emergency Services at Suncor, Syncrude, and CNRL.
“In return you get… you see smiles,” said Lynne Stefanizyn.
The idea came from Val Brayall, while her husband Greg and Randy Stefanizyn oversaw the heavy lifting.
Their friend Mitchell ended up cutting the log with Nest Creations donating lettering for the plaques, while Sign Guru provided a sign which was set up at the downtown roundabout.

Heavy industry contaminants have not been detected in drinking water or hangi pit soils around Whareroa Marae following initial sampling, the Bay of Plenty Regional Council said today.
Last month the council confirmed it was investigating reports PFAS compounds had been recorded in groundwater in Mount Maunganui s industrial area, on a site near the marae. It became aware of this following receipt of a consent application where PFAS was identified as part of the supporting contaminated land assessment.
PFAS are a large group of man-made compounds that are widely used globally in a range of consumer and industrial applications.
