A recently discovered fallen log along Tower Road was cut, sanded, and turned into 24 plaques thanking those who helped everyone evacuate the community. This includes the four local Fire Halls and Emergency Services at Suncor, Syncrude, and CNRL. “In return you get… you see smiles,” said Lynne Stefanizyn. The idea came from Val Brayall, while her husband Greg and Randy Stefanizyn oversaw the heavy lifting. Their friend Mitchell ended up cutting the log with Nest Creations donating lettering for the plaques, while Sign Guru provided a sign which was set up at the downtown roundabout.
