General Motors Releases Update For Blacked-Out Infotainment Screen Issue

Sponsored Links General Motors has released a service update to address a problem that can cause the infotainment screen in certain vehicles to suddenly appear black. The problem: in affected vehicles, the infotainment screen may appear blacked out in cold weather conditions. The hazards: this problem does not pose any sort of safety risk or hazard to vehicle occupants. However, this problem can prevent occupants from being able to use the vehicle’s infotainment screen, so it would be in owners’ best interest to address the problem. The fix: dealers will reprogram the infotainment system. These repairs will be performed at no cost to the vehicle owner and will prevent the blacked out screen issue from happening again.

Tire Recall Spans Chevy, Buick, GMC Cadillac Brands

Sponsored Links General Motors has issued a safety recall for certain 2020 and 2021 model-year Chevy, Cadillac, Buick and GMC pickup trucks and crossovers as they may have been delivered with potentially defective tires. The problem: according to GM, affected vehicles were delivered with Continental brand tires that were overcured during the manufacturing process. The hazards: Continental says overcured tires “may experience a carcass break in the sidewall with sudden air loss or could develop a belt edge separation which could lead to partial or full tread/belt loss.” A tire failure or sudden loss of air pressure could increase the risk of a crash.
