Tuesday is the last day for free COVID-19 testing at the Killeen Special Events Center.
Testing will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the center, located 3301 S. W.S. Young Drive. It was underway on Monday morning as area residents took advantage of the service.
Registration must be completed in advance at https://texas.curativeinc.com/. Participants must provide a mobile phone number or valid email address when registering in order to receive test results, according to a release from the City of Killeen.
Tests are administered while participants remain in their vehicles. A mouth swab is collected, so no eating or drinking at least 15 minutes prior to testing. Results are provided by text message or email within 48 to 72 hours.
None of that except for one day feeling slightly tired. I have been fine.
I am completely thankful to God that I am one of the people who survived this with very mild symptoms.
The Test
So I was aware of the swab mouth test, but the first test that I took (yes I took two) was the nose swab test.
I didn’t know what to expect, so I just said let’s do it!
I lowered my car window, the nurse stuck the Q-tip so far up my nostril I screamed like a little beeotch!
It was the most uncomfortable 20 to 30 seconds of my life, but we got it done.
