Greenock sex offender caught in online decoy sting

A SEX offender from Greenock has been caught encouraging a 14-year-old to perform intimate acts in a series of twisted dating app messages. Thomas Stevenson, 54, was unaware he was in fact communicating with an adult female posing as a schoolgirl when he told her she should be enjoying her body. The perverted loner who has been spared a prison sentence went into graphic detail of what he wanted the child to do. Stevenson constantly asked the decoy, who used a profile picture of a teenage girl, if she touched her private parts, Greenock Sheriff Court was told. The court heard how Stevenson, a former chef, communicated with the decoy across two dating apps Skout and Meet Me between October and December of 2019.

Griffin spun a web of lies – including that the mother worked in the child abuse unit with Police Scotland – to hook the girl into believing him.

Kilwinning sex offender fined for breaching court order

A SEX offender stung sending indecent messages to what he believed to be girls was fined for failing to keep in contact with police before Christmas. Philip Penders, 60, was caught making lewd comments to what he believed were two 14-year-old girls, promising to top-up their mobile phones in exchange for topless photos. However we was speaking to two members of Child Protectors Scotland (CPS), who then ambushed him at his home in Kilwinning’s Muirside Court. Penders, now of Young Street, Ardrossan, admitted failing to update police on his personal details within three days between December 18 and December 21 last year.
