CSTO closely follows developments in Armenia’s Syunik, to take measures if necessary At a meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Permanent Council on Thursday, Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representative of Armenia to the CSTO Viktor Biyagov briefed about the incident on Armenia’s state border with Azerbaijan on May 12. “According to the Armenian side, the armed forces of Azerbaijan crossed the border and advanced deep into the territory of Armenia for several kilometers,” Biyagov said. CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas discussed the matter in a phone call with Acting Defense Minister of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Acting Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian, the organization said in a statement.
