Cameroon: a humanitarian crisis through the eyes of Maliatou
Format
Since 2017, escalating tensions in the Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon have resulted in violence and insecurity. More than 711,000 people have been displaced at some point by the violence. Maliatou is one of them. Conflict forced her to drop out of school and abandon her dreams.
With EU humanitarian funding, Plan International is providing psychosocial support to children and adolescents caught up in the crisis. Thanks to the project, they receive appropriate protection and empowerment to enjoy their rights.
Maliatou is now a 20-year-old young woman. She lives in a host community to internally displaced people in the Northwest region of Cameroon.
