Panaji: Union Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik s health condition is now stable , said Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday.
The Goa CM revealed that 68-year-old Naik is responding well to treatment after undergoing two orthopaedic operations earlier today. I have met Bhau (Naik). His condition is stable now. The two orthopaedic surgeries conducted on him were successful, Sawant told the media after meeting Naik at the Goa Medical College and Hospital s coronary care unit.

Shripad Naik was injured while his wife and Personal Secretary died in a road accident on Monday. His wife Vijaya and his Personal Secretary Deepak, who were critically injured, died at a hospital, Police confirmed.
Naik, who is the Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent) and Defence is out of danger and is being treated at the Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim.
The accident occurred at Ankola in Uttar Kannada district. The Minister was travelling from Yellapur to Gokarna, when the car went out of control and toppled, it is learnt.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who spoke to Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, has asked him to ensure proper arrangements for treatment of Minister Naik besides enquiring Naik’s health condition. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also spoke to the Goa CM and has asked him to provide the best treatment and if need arises, fly Naik to Delhi.

Union Minister Shripad Naik was injured while his wife was killed when the car they were travelling in met with an accident near a village in Ankola Taluk of Karnataka on Monday. The minister s personal secretary Deepak Ramdada also died in the accident.
They were en route Gokarna from Yellapur when the incident took place. According to the police, the minister s wife died on the spot. Three other people are seriously injured.

Union minister Shripad Naik injured in accident; wife, aide dead
PANAJI: Union minister Shripad Naik was injured while his wife and an aide died in a road accident in Karnataka on Monday, an official said.
Naik s wife Vijaya and the aide were travelling with the minister when the vehicle met with an accident near Ankola in Uttar Kannada district, while he was returning to Goa from Dharmasthala in Karnataka.
Naik is being brought to Goa Medical College for further treatment, the official said.
