North Carolina company decides to retain headquarters

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) A company which has been a fixture in central North Carolina for years is staying put and keeping the jobs there.
Switzerland-based Syngenta Crop Protection said Tuesday it will keep its headquarters in west Greensboro and invest $68 million to redevelop and rebuild a significant portion of its campus, the News & Record of Greensboro reported.
The company, which has been discussing options for a new site since mid-2019, said its original 70-acre home is the best fit despite looking at other sites in Guilford County and other areas in the state and the U.S. It will build new offices and labs on the property.

GREENSBORO, N.C. Global provider of agricultural science and technology Syngenta along with Greensboro and state officials announced Tuesday the Greensboro site plans to expand.
The company plans to expand its location on South Swing Road, a 70-acre facility housing 650 employees, and 100 contractors.
According to Vern Hawkins, president of Syngenta Crop Protection, LLC, the expansion and plans to stay in Greensboro brings $68 million in investment in real property improvements, new furniture, fixtures and equipment to the Triad.

Syngenta will redevelop its North American Crop Protection headquarters at its current campus on Swing Road in Greensboro, N.C. The company intends to construct a more than 100,000 square-foot office building to connect with its existing laboratory facility on the north side of the 70-acre campus. Plans also include a complete renovation of the lab facilities. The new workspaces will support about 650 employees and 100 contract workers.
