Last week, Sheridan Memorial Hospital announced that they will be receiving increased doses of the Pfiser vaccine after having used the Moderna vaccine since late December.
Johnson County Healthcare Center will continue to administer the Moderna vaccine according to CEO Sean McCallister… at least in the foreseeable future…
McCallister would be satisfied with either vaccine as both are believed to be about 95% effective in fighting the COVID-19.
Last week, it was announced that approximately 5% of Johnson County residents have been vaccinated, so when will the vaccines begin to win the fight against the pandemic?

The individual who died in Tuesday’s school bus accident on South Main Street in Buffalo has been identified as 20 year-old Nicholas Thompson.
Thompson, a graduate of Buffalo High School in 2020 was struck by a Johnson County School bus early Tuesday morning and was transported to the Johnson County Healthcare Center where he later died of his injuries.
No one on the bus was injured in the accident and the Johnson County School District provided counseling services to any student requiring assistance.
According to the Buffalo Police Department, an investigation into the accident is underway.
A pedestrian was hit and killed Tuesday morning by a school bus belonging to Johnson County School District #1.
According to Buffalo Police Chief Jason Carder, at about 7:50 Tuesday morning, officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on South Main Street.
On the Buffalo Police Department’s Facebook page, “the preliminary investigation shows the accident occurred when an adult male, of Buffalo, attempted to access his vehicle parked on South Main Street when he was struck by a passing Johnson County School Bus.
The victim sustained critical injuries and was transported to the Johnson County Healthcare Center for treatment, but later died.
