Dunfermline Tesco worker ordered to pay £2,250 compensation after returned goods scam

The fraud was carried out at a Dunfermline store over a four-week period. Betsy Graham, 52, of Kenilworth Terrace, Lochore, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court. She will have to pay back the stolen money but avoided any further punishment. Graham admitted that between June 22 and July 26, 2019, at Tesco, Winterthur Lane, she formed a fraudulent scheme by taking possession of unsold items, scanning them through a till as if they had been returned by a shopper seeking a refund and removing from a till a sum of money to the value of the items. She took possession of unsold items of stock, hid them near a till and, when there were no customers or other members of staff present, she scanned the items as if they had been returned for a refund.

Dunfermline man took meat cleaver back to house party

A DUNFERMLINE man returned to a house armed with a “meat cleaver” after an earlier row. Ross Hamilton struck a fence with the weapon to “warn people off” when he went back to retrieve his belongings. He had also been involved in a previous offence in which he brandished a garden fork. At Dunfermline Sheriff Court, 37-year-old Hamilton, of Corbett Place, appeared for sentencing for the two incidents. He admitted that on March 23 last year, at Thane Place, he struck a fence repeatedly with a machete. He admitted previously that on September 26, 2019, at Don Road, he shouted, swore, brandished a garden fork and hoe and challenged people to fight.
