OU Health Updates Visitation Policy For Hospitals, Clinics
OU Health said it has adjusted its visitation policies to address changing dynamics of the COVID-19 pandemic related to hospitalizations.
The new visitation policies are in place at all OU Health hospitals and clinics starting Monday.
OU Health said one essential caregiver may accompany patients at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City and OU Health Medical Center in Edmond.
Caregivers will go through screenings at every entrance, they will have to wear a cloth or surgical mask and they will have to sign an agreement that they will follow the hospital s procedures.

OU Health is updating its visitation policy at hospitals and clinics to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The hospital system says the changes are in response to, changing dynamics of the COVID-19 pandemic related to hospitalizations.
Part of the new policy allows only one essential caregiver to accompany patients at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City and OU Health Edmond Medical Center.
An essential caregiver is described as a person critical to helping the patient reach care imperatives.
Those caregivers are also required to follow certain procedures upon arrival.

Sometime around 4:30 p.m. local time Monday, Rudy Gobert walked out of the 21c Museum Hotel in the west end of downtown Oklahoma City and stepped onto a bus to make the seven-block trip over to Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Nine and a half months ago, Gobert walked out of that same hotel and stepped into a car to be taken about 20 blocks away to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center to be tested for COVID-19. It seemed preposterous Gobert might actually have the coronavirus, but after returning negative tests for strep and flu, he got a swab up his nose. Less than 24 hours later only about 10 minutes before the Oklahoma City Thunder and Utah Jazz were scheduled to tip off on March 11 he tested positive for the virus,
