Thane: A major fire broke out in at least four factories in the Taloja industrial area in Navi Mumbai on Tuesday, a senior official said.
No casualty is reported so far in the fire that is yet to be brought under control since it broke out around 11.51 am, said Santosh Kadam, chief, Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC), Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).

Thane (Maharashtra) [India], February 7 (ANI): Two people were critically injured after a gas cylinder exploded in Maharashtra s Thane on Saturday.
The injured identified as Mahesh Kadam (39) suffered 52-55 per cent burns while the other victim identified as Priti Kadam (34) received 50 per cent burns in the explosion.
They have been shifted to Titan hospital at Manpada in Thane where they are undergoing treatment.
The blast that took place due to gas leakage from an HP cylinder, occurred on the 21st floor, Mitri Co. Society, Puranik Ruma Bali park in Thane on Saturday, the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) said. (ANI)

The fire broke out around 12:15 am at Swaminarayan hall located at Pachpakhadi near Satranj wafers, Open house.
Soon after receiving the information, MSEDC officials and fire brigade officials along with two fire engines and one water tanker rushed to the spot.
Around 1:30 am, the fire was brought under control. Situation now under control. (1.03 am) No casualty, no injury, said the Regional Disaster Management Cell of the civic body.
Cooling Operations underway.
The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Thane Municipal Corporation sets up control room amid bird flu scare

Amid the scare among people over bird flu cases in parts of the state and country, the
Thane Municipal Corporation (
TMC) has set-up a control room.
The TMC has appealed to people to report any case of bird deaths in the city.
The development comes after the district authorities in
Parbhani confirmed that 800 chickens in a village died due to bird flu. Bird flu has been reported in some states in the country. In the wake of that, a control room has been set up as a precautionary measure. Citizens are urged to report about the dead birds to the control room immediately without panic, said TMC.
