Las Vegas Official Wants Nevada To Become First To Ban Ornamental Grass | Talk Radio 105.9

By Bill Galluccio Apr 12, 2021 A water official from Las Vegas is urging state legislators to pass a law that would ban ornamental grass that nobody walks on. This includes grassy areas in office parks and housing communities and the grass that fills roadway medians. Southern Nevada Water Authority public service director  Andy Belanger wants to see that grass removed by December 2026. "SNWA's Andy Belanger: We're asking the legislature to consider legislation to require the removal of unused turf throughout the LV Valley by Dec. 2026. What's unused turf? It's grass that never gets stepped on except when it's mowed," the SNWA tweeted.

By Bill Galluccio Apr 12, 2021 Regeneron announced that the results of a Phase 3 clinical trial show that its antibody cocktail helps prevent symptomatic COVID-19 infections. The company said that the drug, named REGEN-COV, reduced the risk of symptomatic infections by 81%. The drug cocktail was granted an emergency use authorization by the Food and Drug Administration to treat high-risk, non-hospitalized patients with mild to moderate symptoms of COVID-19. That treatment was only approved to be given intravenously. "COVID-19 transmission often occurs via infected people who do not yet have symptoms, so it is critical that we rapidly diagnose and treat these individuals for their own health and to prevent transmission," said

By Bill Galluccio Mar 31, 2021 Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office have wrapped up their investigation into the single-car accident involving  Tiger Woods. While investigators have determined what caused the accident, they refused to provide any details citing privacy concerns. "We have reached out to Tiger Woods and his personnel," Los Angeles Sheriff  Alex Villanueva said. "There's some privacy issues on releasing information on the investigation, so we're going to ask them if they waive the privacy, and then we will be able to do a full release on all the information regarding the accident." Woods was seriously injured after he lost control of the Genesis SUV he was driving on the morning of February 23. The car struck a raised median and spun out control across two lanes of on-coming traffic before hitting a tree and rolling over in a ditch on the side of the road.
