Police have arrested a man near the Myanmar-India border over his alleged involvement in the murder of head constable during the 2020 northeast Delhi riots
The court said that the nine accused were part of an unlawful assembly which allegedly broke into shops, burnt them and committed theft at various places. The incident took place on February 24, 2020, in Shiv Vihar. All the accused were identified and booked under various offences.
A court in Delhi has rejected the bail plea of an accused from whom the mobile phone of a man allegedly killed during the 2020 northeast Delhi riots was recovered, saying the finding was circumstantial evidence for the murder charge and concrete evidence for the offence of dishonestly receiving property stolen during dacoity.
It has been three years since the violence that broke out in northeast Delhi against the background of the powerful anti-CAA/NRC protests. The investigation of the violence has left much to be questioned.
A court here has charged a school owner and four others of rioting and arson in an alleged case of torching of properties and stone pelting during the 2020 northeast Delhi riots.
