When their youngest daughter was born it surprised few that they named her Adeline.
On Sunday, Adeline, 9, was killed in a house fire.
Her parents, sister and brother were transported to the hospital while another brother was spending the night at his grandparents’ house.
Adeline made an impact on those she crossed paths with in her short life.
"She (Adeline) was the sweetest little thing, so witty, so special," said Holly Blue. "She cracked me up all of the time! She was definitely Amanda’s mini-me!”
Blue and Amanda have been friends over two decades.
“We were pregnant at the same time,” Blue recalls.

Blue and Amanda Walton have been friends over two decades. They were pregnant at the same time, Blue said. Her daughter, Delaynee, and Adeline are separated in age by only a few months.
The daughter of Shane and Amanda Walton, Adeline was a third grader at Eastview Elementary in Canton.
“No words can express the sense of grief our Little Giant family is experiencing,” said Rolf Sivertsen, superintendent of Canton Union School District.
Holly Blue, friends with Amanda for more than 20 years, organized a GoFundMe account Sunday to do something to help the Walton family. Shane, Amanda, along with daughter Althea and son Andrew were hospitalized following the fire. Their son Huxley had spent the night at his grandparents.
By Tuesday evening $55,175 had been raised by the account.
“I thought if I could raise $10,000 to at least help with funeral expenses that would be something," Blue said.
A GoFundMe in support of an Illinois State University student and her family has reached its initial goal of $50,000 and is continuing to gain traction following a deadly fire in Canton.Â
Amanda Walton, along with her family members are being treated at Graham Hospital following the fire. Adeline Walton, their 9-year-old daughter, did not survive the fire that engulfed her family home in the early hours of Sunday morning. Amanda, Adeline's mother, is a student with the History Department at Illinois State University.Â
"Our students and faculty are shocked and deeply saddened by the news of what happened to her," History Department Chair Ross Kennedy said. "I have shared the link to the GoFundMe page with the department and our thoughts and prayers go out to Amanda and her family.

A woman from Grimsby has admitted to manslaughter after causing the death of a woman by injecting her with a lethal cocktail of drugs.
Amanda Walton, 37, of Castle Street in the town, admitted the manslaughter of 32-year-old Emma Brennan on November 2, 2019.
Hull Crown Court heard on Friday that Walton had met up with Ms Brennan and invited her back to her house to share drugs.
She then mixed a ‘snowball’ of cocaine and heroin before injecting Ms Brennan and herself with it.
