A popular Troy restaurant closed its doors for good Tuesday night. The Notty Pine Tavern has been a Troy Landmark since opening after World War II.
It was almost a packed house inside the restaurant. Many customers came by to grab one final meal. Many employees say they’ll always remember the good times they had inside.
The Tavern is situated on the corner of 15th and Hutton Streets. The restaurant has served sandwiches, burgers, and of course their much-desired pizzas. Many Rensselaer County residents have stopped by to enjoy a meal. For the last 34 years, the Zotto family has owned the restaurant. We spoke to Kevin Zotto, who says that after 34 years, he felt like it was time to sell the building. He sold it to Amante Pizza just across the street. We spoke to the Michelen family from Troy who says they’ve been coming for 30 years. They stopped by to eat lunch one last time.
