Authorities identify homicide victim as missing MH man

Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says the identity of the murder victim found last week on Old Arkana Road has been confirmed. Sheriff Montgomery says the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the victim is 35-year-old Cody Benjamin Stradford of rural Mountain Home. Stradford’s family posted a missing person notification earlier this month containing a physical description of him and information on the type vehicle he was driving. According to the posting he had not been seen since Dec. 4.The information that appeared on Missing Persons of Arkansas indicated Stradford was last seen at his parents’ house in Mountain Home, and that he was apparently in the Fayetteville area later in the day.

Body found in burned-out car in rural Arkansas; 4 arrested

Four people have been arrested and charged with kidnapping and murder charges relating to human remains found in a burned out car this week in rural north Arkansas, the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office said. A 911 reported the burned vehicle”with what looked like a body inside” just south of Mountain Home at about 10 a.m., the sheriff’s office said. Deputies located the vehicle and sent the body to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Little Rock for an autopsy. “It appears the vehicle had been there for several days,” Sheriff John Montgomery said. Investigators executed search warrants on the car and two homes, one in Mountain Home and one east of Mountain Home, eventually developing several suspects.

Gladstone looks at wastewater service | News, Sports, Jobs

ccarlson@dailypress.net GLADSTONE — The Gladstone City Commission discussed the Stormwater Asset Management and Wastewater Program (SAW) its recent meeting. The SAW grant gives money to develop asset management plans for wastewater and stormwater systems. A presentation was made by Civil Engineer Ashley Hendricks of engineering and architecture design firm C2AE to discuss the data compiled. “The main goal of SAW was to determine or identify what needs the most attention. From there, more detailed analyses would need to be done to identify project scopes, street by street, coordinate with the replacement of other utility replacements such as water or storm and come up with more accurate project costs. So this just kind of outlines what should be kind of looked at in the future,” said Hendricks.
