CANTON Ashley Myers, librarian at Ingersoll Middle School and Book Club organizer said they recently had a ‘Battle of the Books’ competition with three lucky winners including:
First Place-Jaina Merritt
Third Place winner: Kamryn Wilcoxen
Students part of Book Club are able to participate in The Battle of the Books-a competition where students have to fill out a daily questionnaire for a week. On each quiz there are: three library skills questions, eight 2021 Caudill questions, three questions about popular books, and one honor pledge. The three top winners were able to win cash prizes.

WEST ALEXANDRIA Village Council discussed efforts to purchase and demolish a dilapidated property during a special meeting held on Thursday, April 8.
Village Administrator Adam Beneke updated council on the status of the former Twin Tavern, located at 10 N. Main St., during its Jan. 18 meeting, saying that the building was in danger of imminent collapse.
