Locals of
Pokale Mala area in Kondhwa are relieved that part of an illegal construction coming up at the end of their lane has been stopped after weeks of follow-ups with the
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). But, they have threatened to repeat their protests if the whole building is not brought down.
PMC officials on Thursday took down the fifth floor of the “illegal” construction. It may be noted that after repeated complaints, the PMC had sent a notice to the builder on June 14, after which the police ensured the work stopped. The PMC had sent a notice since the margin requirements for the building had not been met, making it a potential threat in the future.
