A proposed April 30 special election to boost the Fairbanks North Star Borough’s tax revenue cap for the next fiscal year may be pushed to the Oct. 1 municipal election.
A Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly resolution approved Thursday paves the way for a Pleasant Valley Two Rivers nonprofit to apply for a state fire identification number.
The borough’s Community Emergency Response Team will receive $50,000 for training its members while $58,000 will be go toward backup power supply equipment.
Anne Wien qualified for the project based on several needs, including its status as a Title I school, where 95% of its students qualify for free or reduced cost meals.
