May 03, 2021 BARELY two years and five months after he and his wife survived an ambush, former Bacolod City councilor Ricardo "Cano" Tan made his first public appearance to announce that he "made it through the storm" after having been cleared from alleged illegal drug links.
An emotional Tan, who faced the media at their family-owned Campuestohan Highland Resort in Talisay City on Sunday, May 2, said justice has finally been served.
The former city official, in the presence of his lawyer, Andrei Normal Saril, presented a copy of the certification from the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas clearing his name and that of his family from any links or participation to alleged illegal drug trade activities.

BACOLOD CITY – The city government here has ordered the one-day closure of resorts and cafés in Barangays Alangilan, Granada, Punta Taytay, and Pahanocoy on Easter Sunday to prevent influx of people gathering in these venues amid the pandemic.
Owners of these businesses have agreed to temporarily suspend their operations on Easter Sunday after Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran appealed to them in view of the recent sudden spike of COVID-19 cases here.
An open forum was conducted in Barangay Alangilan on March 31, attended by business owners, barangay officials, City Hall officials, members of the City Legal Office-Enforcement Team, and the Bacolod City Police Office to discuss matters pertaining to the temporary closure.

+ March 09, 2021 BACOLOD City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya said Tuesday, March 9, that there is now an ongoing construction of the three satellite markets in the city.
These include the renovation of villages Granada and Sum-ag markets, and the construction of Banago village public market.
Gasataya said the National Government allotted about P140 million for the improvement and construction of the three satellite markets.
He said in Barangay Sum-ag, they will construct a two-story building with a parking area for the economic enterprise of said barangay.
