National Geographic interviewed UW Professor Jeff Lockwood about the trillions of cicadas that are estimated to be coming to the United States during the warmer months and the benefits they will provide. The article says the invasion is “a once-in-a-17-year chance to enjoy a wondrous natural phenomenon.”
Jim Magagna, the longtime executive vice president of the Wyoming Stock Growers Association, and recently deceased Northern Arapaho elder Crawford White Eagle Sr. who will be honored posthumously will receive UW honorary doctoral degrees. The Rocket Miner, Oil City News, County 10 and SweetwaterNOW published UW’s release noting that the honorary doctoral degree is UW’s highest award.

Cleveland State Plans Cougar Days Monday, April 5, 2021
In an effort to get students to register early for the fall semester, the Recruiting Department at Cleveland State Community College has been busy scheduling Cougar Days with local high schools.
“Cougar Days enrollment events help prospective students meet with us to discuss enrollment options and schedule planning for next fall,” said Cate Green, director of Admissions, Recruitment, and High School Programs. “We are so excited to connect with our applicants and help them plan for their futures.”
All 11 high school schools in the college’s five-county service area will be participating in the upcoming enrollment events designed for traditional students. Each high school will have a designated “Cougar Day” in which students will be able to meet their success coaches, complete advisement and register for the fall semester. The Cougar Days schedule is as follows:

There were 197 calls for service reported to the Teton County, Idaho Sheriffâs Office between December 25 and December 31. Officers performed 14 traffic stops and 33 security checks of local businesses. There were 2 accidents, 11 slide-offs, 4 DUIs, and 3 ambulance run to Grand Targhee.
