At Pathanamthitta district, the ground zero of Sabarimala temple agitation, conversations around Lord Ayyappa, or the vexed issue of women’s entry into the temple, barely figures in the poll-scape. Barring a few posters and flex boards that announce “a vote for Ayyappa’, political debates veer invariably around development and candidates. Every election in this central Travancore district has assumed significance since the 2018 Supreme Court verdict of allowing entry of women of all ages into the hill shrine.
Pastor Daryl Arnold of Overcoming Believers Church officiated the service.
It was moved from the sanctuary next door to the Change Center because of how many people attended.
The service included scripture readings, music, prayer and reflection, followed by a long procession of cars leading to Freeman's burial site.
He was one of three Austin-East students to lose his life to gun violence in the past month, along with Justin Taylor and Janaria Muhammad.

All these families are left with memories and hope that their children will inspire change and won't be forgotten.
Pastor Arnold will officiate Muhammad's funeral service the day after Freeman's, at the same place with many of the same people.

From making reservations to hosting outdoor or virtual services, churches are changing their Christmas Eve traditions. Author: Emily DeVoe Updated: 5:42 PM EST December 19, 2020
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — On Christmas Eve, the pews at First United Methodist Church Morristown will be empty.
"We had hoped to be in-house for Christmas Eve. We were planning to take reservations, but as the numbers continued to climb, and we had several members who have been infected, we just felt like it was prudent for us not to do in-house worship," Rev. Asa Majors said about the decision to change the tradition for their most popular night.
