Beltrami County Public Health has been tracking less than 10 people with the coronavirus as cases decrease. With the numbers falling, officials are pressing for more to be vaccinated so the trend can continue.
178 vaccines administered for the 16-17 age group.
6,736 adults between the ages of 18 and 49.
4,556 adults between the ages of 50 and 64.
6,111 adults 65 and older.
However, Beltrami County Public Health Director Cynthia Borgen said many more people have to take the step of scheduling an appointment to keep building protection for the community. The pace is slowing, Borgen said. We still have people coming back for their second vaccine, but we re struggling getting new people interested in the vaccine series, and that s what it s going to take for us to close out this pandemic. Getting more people vaccinated.
One of the concerns Borgen shared about the situation is how informed people are about the vaccines.

BEMIDJI The number of active coronavirus cases in Beltrami County has decreased significantly since fall, while local health providers continue to administer vaccinations.
As of Friday, Beltrami County Public Health Director Cynthia Borgen said her office was tracking just 34 COVID-19 cases, down from 90 in January. Before 2021, the county had been tracking at least 250 cases in December and 115 in October. We re really happy to see that, Borgen said. Although, it has stopped declining there. So, we still need people to follow the COVID guidance and be aware of where they spend their time, as most people have not been vaccinated. I know everyone s tired of that message,

As of Tuesday, March 30, every Minnesotan 16 and older can get a COVID-19 vaccine. Local provider Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota is distributing vaccines based on guidance from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and each state’s department of health.

BEMIDJI Local efforts to vaccinate the public for the coronavirus are proving successful, with Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota having administered 1,900 doses since mid-December.
