Intensifying its action against eateries and restaurants that are not adhering to
COVID prevention protocols, the
Bhawani Peth on Saturday.
The action was taken by
Somnath Bankar, assistant PMC commissioner of Bhawani Peth ward office, along with the inspection squad. “During the time of the surprise inspection, it was found that around 30-40 customers were inside the hotel sitting and eating. Because of this, we penalised them Rs 1 lakh for COVID lockdown rules violation. The hotels have been given time to operate only to provide the delivery service, that too it has to be through the food delivery mobile application and not customers,” said Bankar.

Pune: Doubling time of Covid cases under the Pune Municipal Corporation is highest in Warje-Karvenagar and is the lowest in Bibwewadi. The doubling time of Covid has been noted at 414 days.
The civic body has been checking the spread of Covid across Pune to analyse containment strategies. PMC recorded the total doubling rate of Covid in Pune at 414.08 days, in its recent review. The lowest doubling rate of 259.6 days is in Bibwewadi ward office area, where a total of 11,263 residents tested positive for Covid since the outbreak.

As the Covid-19 spread in Pune city remain consistent at a daily positivity rate of around 10 percent, the doubling time of the viral infection in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits has been noted at 414 days, with the highest rate reported in Warje-Karvenagar ward office area (536.85 days) and the lowest in Bibwewadi ward office area (259.60 days).
