Ingrooves expands into Africa with acquisition of South Africa-based distributor, Electromode January 7, 2021 Ingrooves Music Group has acquired independent South Africa-based music distributor, Electromode, marking Ingrooves’ entrance into the growing African music market. Electromode Managing Director, Chris Ghelakis will continue to lead the team based in Johannesburg and will work closely with the Ingrooves global music network to “elevate engagement, identify new audiences, and build African artists and label brands around the world”. The deal follows Ingrooves’ expansion over the past 12 months into South America, Asia, Europe and Australia with new offices in Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Turkey and Spain. Electromode’s roster includes more than 200 artists and associated labels including South African record producer DJ Maphorisa’s label, New Money Gang (Scorpion Kings, Mas Musiq, Tyler ICU, Daliwonga) and Piano Hub (Kabza Da Small, Kelvin Momo), influential independent labels, Ambitouz Entertainment (Blaq Diamond, Miss Pru, Malome Vector, Cici, La Sauce, Loyiso) and Spirit Music (Benjamin Dube, Omega, Woman in Praise).

Ingrooves expands into Mexico, appoints Ariana Arciniega as Country Manager for the market

Music Business Worldwide December 16, 2020 Ingrooves Music Group has expanded into Mexico City and named Ariana Arciniega as Country Manager of Ingrooves Mexico. The move into the market reflects Ingrooves’ growing global footprint after opening offices in Turkey, Brazil, Madrid, Tokyo, Seoul and Sao Paolo and expanding the company’s presence in Australia/New Zealand earlier this year. Arciniega joins Ingrooves from Believe, which she joined in 2017 as Country Manager for the company’s Mexico operation and later segueing to Head of Artist Services. She simultaneously led the Mexico City Chapter of Sofar Sounds, where she led the live music company’s local office.
