immigration officials calling it, quote: up constitutional. many of these sanctuary cities are in california where our next guest wants to be the next governor and is he running on the republican ticket. he vows to undo the liberal policies destroying this state. right now the taxes are through the roof. john cox joins us. john, what s your reaction to this judge s ruling? this judge is a politician. he is a bundler for obama. he has made contributions before he was on the bench. he actually worked in the justice department handling immigration. and he said in his hearings he wasn t going to rule on decisions he worked on while at the department of justice. the problem with, this brian, it s all about politics. it s all about scaring people. it s all about arousing anger from some people and fear in others. and it s demagoguery and it s got to stop. i m a businessman looking to turn california around. and, you know, in the business world, you got to search for solutions. the solution
an obamacare repeal. we already saw that didn t work. it s not going to help them pass a tax reform package which a lot of republicans is even more important than obamacare repeal for them. it s not going to help them get an infrastructure package so it s not going to help them do the things he promised to do as president. it is going to help them keep trump as this sort of, you know, opponent to all of these people. you know, tax reform is so important here, in my beat for example and where are we in tax reform, the president is talking about the height of the powerful chairman of the foreign relations committee or causing all these fights with the nfl, so that s what the concern, you know, for many people in business, but let me ask you a quick question about this weinstein story because it veers into the political, because harvey weinstein was a very big donor and bundler for the democratic party. a champion of the democratic party and almost like a friend of bill clinton. there s
hold on. as you were talking, a.b., we had a picture of harvey weinstein with jared kushner and ivanka trump. he is a huge democrat. this is not about millions for democrats. he has held fund-raisers, multiple fund-raisers for barack obama s campaign, not just donating money but raising money. fund raise for hillary clinton s campaign. yes, he is a person who gets his photograph made because he is famous with other famous people including, yes, donald trump, ivanka trump, thank you for sending me that photograph 10 million times. the broader point is that this guy is a democrat, very high-profile democrat, fund-raiser and bundler of money and i think it s amazing that you don t see hillary clinton and barack obama who frankly are still the two highest profile democrats in the country not say this is unacceptable behavior.
he was a bundler for the campaign, saying he s getting money from other sources to give to the campaigns. so you wonder. you have had some democrats give money become and donate it to women s organizations and you wonder if that s the next step for hillary clinton. in her statement so far there is no indication that they are necessarily giving any of this money back or giving it to women s organizations. we ll see. you can imagine there will be increasing pressure on the clintons, on other democrats, perhaps as well as on barack obama, for barack obama maybe to make a statement. harvey weinstein, i believe, at some point, michelle obama has said laudatory things about him as well. again, no indication that any of these people had any reason to know what his past was in some of these allegations of it had been lodged against him. but it s also true that democrats and particularly in 2016, if you look at the campaign that they waged against donald trump, all about women,
right. this sexual harassment scandal is about harvey weinstein and who else knew about it. margaret, talk about the politics of this, because he raised a ton of money for big name democrats. he was a bundler for hillary clinton in 2016 in her campaign, over $1.4 million raised for her, a little over $600,000 for president obama in 2012. listen to michele obama when he was at the white house here is what she said in 2013. i want to start by thanking harvey weinstein for organizing this amazing day.
