Denison student Margaret “Meg” Wilson, Class of 2021, is the 74th recipient of the Kussmaul Award.
Since 1947, the Louis Kussmaul Friendship Award — jointly presented by Denison University and the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce — has been given annually to the Denison University student (traditionally a senior) who has contributed the most to building friendly relations between Denison and the Granville community.
The award is a formal recognition of those who have given of themselves to the greater community during their Denison years. A $300 prize is awarded the winning nominee.
Wilson, of Bexley, Ohio, received the award during a virtual Chamber of Commerce lunch meeting on April 21.

Camp Kesem, a national organization with chapters at colleges across the country, aims to bring community to children whose parents or guardians have been afflicted with cancer. Under normal circumstances, students involved in UM’s chapter spend the year fundraising and getting ready for their main event: a 10-day long, Orlando-based camp spent playing games and building relationships with campers.
This year, UM members are finding ways to run things remotely.
