A specialist officer dedicated to preventing burglaries in parts of Newark says her biggest challenge is convincing residents that she really is offering free security measures.
As burglary reduction officer, PSCO Ellie Smalley is helping to prevent break-ins, primarily by working with victims and their neighbours to prevent offences before they occur.
The specialist post is being paid for through the £550,000 Safer Streets Fund secured by Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping.
