when can we expect to learn, first of all, what is in it and what the real gauge of optimism is for an actual passage here? >> christi, negotiators told us that they are so close to a framework that we could possibly get an announcement from the group, that bipartisan group, as early as this weekend or even next week. that's huge. look, this group has been working tirelessly since the uvalde shooting. there are some republicans, including chief republican negotiator texas senator john cornyn who are negotiating with democrats on some sort of framework on gun safety reform. we have not seen this in years. this is incredibly notable. you know they referenced the previous reporter's referenced those shootings in florida. there was sandy hook, that elementary school shooting and nothing happened after those terrible, terrible, horrific shootings. now it seems after uvalde and after buffalo that there could be something done.

miscommunication and mishandling by the fda. the first batches of formula are expected to be available for you around june 20th. still more than two weeks away. the latest jobs report shows strong gains in may with u.s. employers adding 390,000 jobs. >> the numbers are less than the previous month, by higher than predicted. cnn chief business correspondent christine romans has more on the state of the recovery of the economy. >> christi and boris, recession fears are growing and inflation at 40-year highs. companies are still hiring. the u.s. economy added 390,000 jobs in may. that is slower than recent months, but a solid number. labor market is now just 822,000 job shy of pre-pandemic levels and unemployment rate at 3.6% steady. that is above the 50-year low the u.s. hit before the pandemic in february of 2020.
